Parking bay monitoring system
Highlight Parking Systems have installed a bay monitoring system in the new 3800 space multi-storey car park built as part of the Heathrow Terminal 5 development.
Bay monitoring provides a visual indication to a driver of the location of an empty parking space. Sensors located in the unit above each space switch on an LED light when the bay is empty. The system is networked to a central computer allowing intelligent control of signage to further aid navigation.
A new system was specially developed to meet BAA's requirements. Works Design provided product design and project management for the system, the visual look of which played a key role in Highlight Parking Systems being awarded the contract by BAA.
