Ultraviolet pen distinguishes protein samples
Douglas Instruments will be launching a new product to compliment their market leading range of Automatic Protein Crystallization Robots.
The UV-280 Pen shines ultraviolet light onto samples under a microscope to enable protein and salt to be distinguished.
Works Design were asked to design and develop a solution suitable for small batch production.
Using our knowledge of turn-mill machining to produce a cost effective outer casing and 3D CAD to optimise the internal component layout, we supplied the client with a working prototype and sourced the production components and assembly.
